Esme Violet
Alma Harriet
Rosalind Esme
Magdalen Ruth
Ramona Ellen
Penny Clementine

Honestly think the rest of the FN's are dated.

Hello, all.

I slunk away from the thread for a while... and I'm sorry.   Is it okay if I pop back in? I need some inspiration. <3

I have to agree with Mama Sweetpea that some of the options seem a little overly dated. I like "old lady" names too, but you want them to suit a young child and grow with them. Also, if your SO hates old lady names, even if you have been given full reign over the girls' name, maybe picking something a little less extreme in that direction will give him more opportunity to come around to the name (you don't want him hating his DD's name, after all). I like these ones the best...

Ellen Magnolia
Ginger Suzette
Esme Violette
Miriam Esme

Thank you!!!

I am, so I'm on the desperate search for a list of names that my BF won't totally despise. His taste tends to be simpler than mine, and he'll probably turn down all of the awesome Greek mythology names that I love so much... so I'm trying to pick ones that I think he may be okay with.

Girls:
Daphne
Hazel
Fiona (still not sure if I like this one, or just like the sounds)
Phaedra
Fallon (I'm just really liking the "F" sound, apparently)
(And of course I love the Imogen, Iphigenia... Andromache, Antigone, Electra, and all those crazy ones.)

Boys:
Elias
Felix (I think he's nixed this one already... ha)
Leander
Fenton (I like the sound, not sure on the name)
Asher (but doesn't sound good with the LN).

I'm definitely narrowing down FNs before delving into MNs. haha

I honestly like ALL of these! Fiona is one that I've always loved but SO vetoed, and Hazel is on our MN list. Elias was in our top 2 boy name options and Fenton is a family surname we considered for a boy MN. So, your little person is a winner with any of these in my book!

Oh, HOORAY! I am glad to hear that! I know he likes Elias and Hazel, I'm going to make a big ol' list before I go over names with him.

Any other suggestions you think should be on this list?

Well, since you like mythology-based names, do you also like ancient Rome inspired names? Like August, or Julius?

I do... but I don't want to do a month name... I like some Roman names, but prefer the Greek. And love Shakespeare, but he's already nixed most of the names I like. haha
