My name is Jamie..
I always thought it was female since it's the feminine form of James.

I'm smaller this go round than I was with my first 2. But I also eat waaaaaaaaay better than I did with them and I drink water pretty much all the time and have a can of pop here or there.

Was it customary in the early 1900's to give your children all the same middle names? I'm reading Jackie Kennedy Onassis' biography and all of her siblings and her have Lee as their middle name. She was born in 1929 and was the oldest.

I know quite a few people my generation and up that have the same middle name as at least 1 sibling.

I think it started out as a masculine nickname for James, but turned into the feminine form. But I still see it on males more than females.
