Tisiphone / Tesephone is pretty. Parthenope, Calliope, Chryseis, Panthea, Ione, Antigone (similar ending to Persephone)....maybe alternatives?

I do like Calliope and Ione. Antigone is beautiful, but so tragic.   But I do like the nickname "Annie" for Antigone.

Meh - my name is pretty tragic (Cassandra), it's never bothered me. I just like that I have really cool mythology and such behind it.

Very true. I think I would be more inclined to use Antigone if it were more mainstream like Cassandra. I will add it to my list though!

lol My daughter's Persephone... I haven't ran into anyone else with a girl named it... I hear people talk of using it but then theyd choose something else in the end.

100 and some girls in 2011 is like nothing compared to how many people live in the united states. I doubt your daughter would run into another Persephone in person in her life time. But who knows! It was the main character poodles name in the that kids movie frankenweenie that just came out
