I never gave DS one until after he was 2, probably closer to 3, but I let him lick one I was eating and I've given my kids as babies a finger swipes worth of ice cream or icing from a cake if I was eating it. For fun for them. They do have like vitamin c suckers and stuff like that, Ive never used one but if DS or DD whens she a little older wasn't taking much food or fluids while sick I would probably consider giving them one of those vitamin lollipops....  

What do you guys think of Tisiphone/ Tesephone as an alternative to Persephone? Persephone is getting WAY too popular for my taste.

Rory gets stuff as long as it's in moderation. We had some strawberry ice cream with real strawberries, raspberries and fresh bananas in it the other day, I shared mine with him. He's had a cookie, he had a small (like 1/2" wide) piece of pumpkin pie, he's had a few bites of cheesecake, he has a few sucks of a popsicle. He doesn't get it daily but if it's a special occasion I let him have treats, like a big family dinner or a party, or if we go out for ice cream I share some bites of mine with him. I'd rather him think he's able to have stuff, and know moderation with it instead of being forbidden to have stuff then go to a party and fill up on sweets because they're there and "mom won't yell at me here". I've seen that happen way too often.

Honestly Persephone isn't THAT popular. I like Persephone so much better

Have you seen the number of women on BG alone that want to name their future daughter Persephone? It is getting annoying, even though I adore the name, I'm thinking by the time I have children, it will become the new Stephanie.

I've seen two on here I think. Recently.
But it isn't too popular at least imo

I'd have to get the list from Cass, but I don't think the name's as popular as you think.

In 2010 there were only 110 girls named Persephone. I doubt it increased past 200 for 2011.

According to ourbabynamer, 134 baby girls were named Persephone in 2011, but just in 2009 only 87 baby girls with the name were born. It is definitely shooting up in popularity.
