I just think it's weird how she goes off saying how stupid all these names are, when they are perfectly normal names... e.g. Samantha, Christopher, etc. in addition to attacking 'trendeigh' names. She only likes someone's name like 1% of the time

I don't think it should be an issue. Would your mom really think the name you use meant you prefer your MIL in some way? I doubt it. Stella's the only family name I'll be using, probably. I definitely won't fall into the trap of having to make everything equal for both sides of my family and his family and all that stuff. Ann's only her middle name and it's it's only part of the name, you can't help where it sounds best. I actually hate that I'm named after family. My mom says now that if she could do it over, she'd just pick names she liked and none of us would be named after anyone.

i know! And she has argued with me about better spellings, even after I have tolf her many times that my maternal tongue is not English, so her spellings DO NOT work nor sound right for me....I think she just likes being difficult

She has a problem with everything. She's using ransom (stupid ass name) bc it's for family, but my daughter's mn will be Dawn after my mother and so's gp. She said it's ” old, ugly, and outdated” bitch,stfu. You're naming your kid ransom.

In one of my posts she said something about not liking Abraham and that it was ugly and old and I was like "Abraham isn't on my list, Abram is" and she said "well same goes for that too" Like, WHAT. Theodore is on her list and that's not old but Abram is? And Ransom is smurfing stupid. She gets all pissy about matching names but she wants to use Sagan and her daughters MN is Sage. Uhhhh
