vaccine question

Is it okay fora baby to get vaccinated while they have a cold? Ethan is scheduled for a checkup and vaccines today, and I was thinking of rescheduling until his cold is gone. I'm gonna call and see what the doctor says but I was just wondering if any of you knowanything about this.

If he is running a fever they won't let him get any vaccinations and they'll have you come back when the fever is gone.

he doesn't have a fever, just a runny nose and alot of sneezing.

My doc won't do a "well check" on baby (including vaccinations) if my child is sick for any reason. I did that once with my son and the doc saw him and treated him for illness but made me reschedule the well check because he wasnt well.

Mine either. Some doctors are different though, so call and check. I made the mistake of not doing this during mydaughter's lastvaccinations and after I waited almost an hour, when I went in, they sent me home and told me to come back in a week

Don't you just love doctors! All that waiting....just to reschedule  

Ian had his appointment on the 27th of Feb..he had a cold...they did the well child visit...but rescheduled his shots for the 12th.

I guess I better just call and see what they say then. thanks for all your replies!

When Izzy was 6 months old he had a cold when he was scheduled for his shots. The doctor said he would still give them to him if I wanted since he wasn't running a fever or he'd let me come back in the following week for his shots. He left it up to me.

I just called, they said it was probably best to reschedule if he has a cold, so he going next week instead, thanks ladies!
