re: ultrams/tramadol during pregnancy.

I was in a lot of pain during my pregnancy and my doctor prescribed me tramadol. He said it was not going to hurt the baby. I was 15 weeks pregnant and due to taking tramadol I went into labor early and I delivered my baby in the er table and lost it. Now I'm going thru depression and trying to c if I can get something done against the doctor that prescribed them to me. But no doctor should prescribe tramadol to pregnant or nursing women that's what the article said.

I have had 9 back surgeries, was on serious pain meds for years before pregnancy. in early stage of pregnancy, actually until 3rd trimester, only Tylenol is safe. even tho tramadol isnt narcodic, its not safe for baby. he needs to decide what is more important, the baby or taking the meds..
