Just trying to bring this up to recent posts for those looking for experiences

I just had my D&C done today and I wanted to come and say thank you for posting this thread. I read this a few days ago before making the decision for my D&C. It was pretty painful because the pain meds they gave me didn't take but the procedure was so quick I don't have any horror stories to tell.

I should have expected it. I had a terrible time after my gall bladder removal. It wasn't overly traumatic. It just make me wary of getting any procedure done. I need to learn hypnosis. lol

I was never put under for a D&C, in fact i didn't even get medication to help make things more comfortable. I was also 12 weeks along and the baby had died between 8-9 weeks along   I wasn't advised to get a D&C done, the doctor just told me i might have some cramping and bleeding the next few days...It was the exact opposite. I had HORRIBLE cramping and bled heavily. So bad i rushed myself to the ER and that's where they had done my D&C. It was such an awful experience and I don't wish that on my worst enemy. Thank you for sharing your experience though...   And im am very sorry for your loss.

BTW...this happened in June of '08.

That sounds like a horrid experience   I wonder why they didn't give you any sedation or anesthesia?! It's bad enough to have to have a D&C let alone be awake and coherent for it.
