re: PREGNANT WITH TWINS? (or more)

My daughter is 5, almost 6, and I still have stretch marks from her and her older brothers. Some fade, some will always be there. It depends on your genetic make up. If you are predeposed to stretch marks, yo may never get rid of them completely. I had some on my arms and breast from growing.

I have horrendous stretch marks from my first two (singleton) pregnancies that can still be seen to this day. They are about as wide a a finger'swidth. They are not red any more but a silvery color that when seen in the right (or wrong LOL) light appear red. The fibers of the skin in those areas are torn and will never be fixed, unfortunately. They are a badge of motherhood and if your skin is prone to them there really is nothing you can do about it. If I was going somewhere and needed to show my belly for some reason I just put make up on them to minimize the appearance of the marks. A pain but it does the trick.

Good thing is that since they were already there, I don't seem to be getting any more with this pregnancy yet. It seems that my skin has all that extra room to stretch now. LOL

Use lotion every day. It is not going to stop them but may help make them less visable by making your skin a little less pliable. I think it also has something to do with your physique when you got pregnant too. I was a muscular little thing the first time. Blew my body to shreds by the end. My DD was 8.10!

Well i would like to comment on the stretch mark thing. I didn't get any with my first pregnancy thank goodness and my daughter was 8 2.5 and I had gained 34 lbs. With the twins i gained 31 lbs and with 10lbs of babies and only have a handful of marks. I can literally cover them with my hand. And they didn't show up till i was put on bed rest. Both my mom and sis got them horrible so i'm not dead set on it being so much genetic. I took care of my skin lotion three times a day from the day i found out i was preggers and i hit the water hard. I also exercised lots.They will never go away completely but they are fading and some days i can't even see them at all.

I wonder what the skin of the women on your Dad's side looks like. Maybe you have their BEAUTIFUL genes in that department. I think the lotion and water probably helped too. You are one lucky babe! I'm jealous with a capital J! LOL

I'm not really sure they are all pretty big women so i have no idea. Maybe i did get some good genes from that side. either that or i just got really lucky.

What does it mean if your babies are measuring two days behind (like your due date says your 7w6d but your babies are measuring 7w4d)...does it mean my original due date (Dec 23) was wrong?

no they could just be small right now and catch up later. 2 days is nothing. and due dates can be off by up to a week in iether way

I still have stretch marks...and my ds is 10 years old! They are lighter...but you can still see them. I did everything to avoid them...but if its in your genes...its inevetable (sp)

My babies are constantly measuring bigger than my edd...im11.1 weeks today...they are averaging 11.5 weeks today....my friend insist that I go by the measurment??? Does anyone know the answer to that.

Ok it just made me worry a little. I wonder if I'm eating enough... 

Another scare for me last night. I had a big gush of bright red blood and a little clot about 9:30pm. I went to bed and during the night I still bled. This morning I called the Dr's office at 6:30am. Of course they didn't open until 8 and my doctor didn't call me until 9:45. But she had me come right in and did another ultrasound. She even let us hear their heartbeats! So they are still doing okay. Both of them are very active and swimming around like crazy. It's actually really cute to watch it on the screen! I'm on light duty right now...no work/sex until the active bleeding stops. But everything still appears to be fine and the doctor said I'm 11 weeks now, so it's getting a little too late to have a miscarraige. She thinks I might be forming my placenta over the cervix which could be the cause of the bleeding.

Im sooo glad every thing is OK...your situation sounds soooo much like mine!!!
Did you get a diagnosis?
The placenta has blood behind it...and its the MOST common cause for bleeding!!!!
With no symptoms except bleeding...on ultrasound mine would have been totally missed!!
Im still spotting but only when I wipe (TMI)
And since we are exactly the same gestational age...I want to almost bet its the same thing!

So...I went to a wedding yesterday...and I felt sooo fat...LOL...hubby assured me that I just look pregnant...LOL...I guess he was right....random people was rubbing my belly all day...awwww...I knew that I was getting a belly under my clothes...but had no idea they would show thur my dress...check it out...now I feel even more pregnant...LOL

I'm going bananas right now because I've been having that off and on for like a little more than a week now!!! I wish it would stop. Everyone says its ok, but it would be much more of a comfort if it wasn't there!!
