re: PREGNANT WITH TWINS? (or more)

She held Desi in until they got the OR ready because he was breech and that's the rule here.

I think it is weird how Archie does that with his feet. When he is mad he sticks them together really tightly!

Are they on the sides or in the middle?

OH my babies everywhere! Can't wait for pics! Congrats to all new mommies!

Mamabear, it sounds like normal pains but I suggest laying down on your side and drinking as much water as you can. If they don't stop, I'd say you should go to ER. Good luck. let us know

Hi all, I'm 32 years old and 21 weeks with twin boys! The doctor said he so rarely gets to tell women they are carrying twins, since most of them are IVF and already know! It took us 10 months to conceive, but I suppose having 2 in the next 10 months makes up for it. ;) Being overweight, my age, and having twins in my family made having twins a higher probability.

I worry about the complications with twins though, the vanishing twins syndrome etc. My ob-gyn is making me quit work for the month of December and be on bedrest (or almost bedrest) due to my being only 5'2". He worries about preterm delivery. So far though, its pretty smooth. Only real complaints are extreme fatigue (that started EARLY in pregnancy and although better, hasn't gone away) and I have carpal tunnel in my hands. It isn't too bad yet, but it is getting progressively worse.

I'm so glad its twins, but because it is "high risk" I find myself often wondering if I will ever really have 2 healthy baby boys in my arms. So far, so good though! I had some scary bleeding early on, and everytime my first thought was that it was a miscarriage, but turned out to be nothing. I think I just worry too much, can't believe in something too good to be true! I feel unworthy.

Welcome and congrats. It's scary for anyone to carry multiples but when you have things that put you at an even higher risks, I couldn't imagine. We've got a real wide range of experiences and knowledge! I think we're the friendliest, most supportive group on this site. We kind of need to be, it's not like we're "normal" LOL. Just follow you doctors orders, take it easy, and do the best you can to hold them in. If you've made it so far without any problems, the only thing to worry about is the preterm labor and thankfully they usually do all that they can to stop it. I have a 2yr old and 6mos. twin girls and I can't tell you how many bad things were going through my head during my pregnancy, but in the end it's not been half as bad as I thought it would be!

Congrats, I'm 30 and had my twins in March, at 36 weeks and 1 day. I'm only 4 ft 11 and 3/4's, but I was on bedrest from 18 weeks on. I had extreme fatigue and morning sickness early too!

yes.

how early are you?

i cramped horribly in the beginning until around 13 weeks. then there wasa lull and it picked back up again around 22 weeks.

its usually just your uterus growing througha growth spurt.

You're such a trooper. I always think how hard the twins were on my body and then remember you were working with almost a foot less than me!

Dont be too worried! I was 31 when my twins were born and I am only 5'4" and I was induced at 36.2 weeks. I had a normal pregnancy untill about 34 weeks I started having contraction but they were able to stop them. You can do this!!! Congrats and as everyone keeps telling me " you are truly blessed" to be having twins!

Awww congrats....1 of each !! The last 2 times i went to my peri. she kept seeing that to her my twins look like girls. She told me when i come back for my 16 week ultrasound , we'll know what they are. I have been saying all along they were girls but hubby thought they were boys. We'll be happy with whatever god gives us...as long as they are healthy...thats all that matters !

i was so frustrated when I was pregnant because the doc told me we'd know at 16 weeks, but at the big 16 week ultrasound we couldn't tell! Then at 17 weeks, the doc did her in office one, and said "probably boys" then finally at 19 weeks we found out they were boys for sure! I couldn't beleive it, we knew that they were identical, so only one had to cooperate, but neither would!

yeah, right...whatever the one is...the other is !! She said to us at both times that it looks flat down there. So she said we'll definately know at 16 weeks. I go back to my peri. next tuesday so we'll see what she says then. Thry will be doing a transvaginal ultrasound then to check fluid levels and measurments and all that good stuff ! Is the transvaginal one more clear?
