10 Weeks early- Semaj Anthony Ward

Well last night I had to get a c- section to bring my son into the world 10 weeks early. I went yesterday for a routine visit and u/s at 10:15 am and when they finished the u/s the tech was acting odd. When they called us back to talk about the u/s they told us that there was no fluid around my baby and that he was only measuring at 25 weeks, and that they would induce so I would have him by this morning. Well things did not work out like that. At about 8:30-9:00 pm they told me that they had to get the baby out because his heart rate was dropping because since there was no fluid there was nothing to abosorb the shock when I had contractions. He was being squished into his umbilical cord to the point where he could not breath making his heart rate drop. Soat 10 they sent me in for a spinal tap and at 10:36 pm on 2/26 Semaj Anthony Ward was born and tooken to the NICU. Im so happy he's here and for the most part healthy. I wish he would have stayed in there just a little while longer but he's fine in the incubator. Im so scared and stressed out for many reasons beside this. Girls please pray for my bean. Ill post they rest of the story and some pics when I get some good ones of him. I just wanted to update you guys.

OMG!! i'll make sure and pray for you and your baby!! i guess you're the first may momma to have her baby! congratulations and i hope all goes well for you and your little one, how is he doing, have you heard anything really yet?

Congratulationson your little man! My guy came 10 weeks early via -section in December. He is 11 weeks now! There isn't anything I can say to prepare you for what you're about to go through, but just know that we'll all be here to support you and help you however we can! Keep us updated on little Semaj! I'll be thinking about him and you!

Oh my!!! I thought for sure I'd make it back to Buffalo for another visit before he was born!! Congrats Shaq, and I am sending tons of prayers for him to get nice and big and strong quickly so you can bring him home!! Kailyn is looking forward to meeting him too! We are both pretty sickly right now, but would love to make a trip when we and you guys are all feeling up to it. Cant wait to see some pics! Congrats again!!!

Wow. I wish I would have had a way of knowing all this was going on. I'm going to PM you my number. Congratulations, I can't wait to see little Semaj.

How much did he weigh?

i had my baby boy at 30 weeks too.....he's now a fat healthy porker. We'll be praying for you!

Hey il be praying for you both. I delivered 3 months early and my lil man had IUGR so he was only 26 weeker size, so i know how you will be feeling! I hope your wee man manages to steadily gain weight and go home nice and strong soon enough. I know theres not many moms out there who've had to deal with IUGR, even 'normal' preemie moms cannot begin to understand what its like to have your baby so many weeks behind,so feel free to pm me anytime. My son was IUGR   it's hard to deal with when you know there not ready to come out but you have to get them out/

Thanksgirls for your prayers. He's doing really well. He gained 23 grams and is of all breathing tubes. Im so proud of him!! He's a real little fighter. I did not expect him to come so early but as premature as he is he is perfect! Ill be sure to keep you guys posted on his condition. Thanks ladies!

How much did he weigh at birth? Thats great if hes gained weight already, normally they continue to lose weight at the start. An hes breathing on his own - congrats mama! That must be a relief for you. I hope he keeps doing so well

Thanks, he weighed 1lb 11oz at birth. he just lost a couple of grams so he's almost back down to his birth weight. I started him on breast milk but I have to pump cuz he's too small to pick up and he cant suck and swallow yet. I got to change his diaper today and it really made me feel like a mommy!!
