Per request of a bunch of ladies on here TTA (trying to adopt) I put together a thread about TTA in the TTC & Adoption section.

Mara has allowed it to become a sticky, and we also requested that TTC and Adoption is separated in the boards but we aren't quite sure if the demand for TTA is enough.

Please let me know in the poll if you are on this section to TTC and TTA :]

I think it's a good idea to separate them because it really is a separate situation and I think there would probably be more specific answers and support for adoption if the TTA'ers and those who placed their children had an area for jyst them.

I think adoption should have it's own seperate board!

TTC vs. TTA or adoption in general are 2 totally seperate issues! It is hard for someone like me who TTC for years and turned to adoption! I love sharing my adoption story, advice, and talking to people adopting and it would be SO MUCH EASIER if it were on a different board so that I wouldn't have to weed through all of the TTC posts.

The demand for an adoption only thread is there! And who knows maybe we can have some more success stories of birthmom's finding their adoptive parents on here if it were seperate!

I agree, but I think Mara wants to see that theres a decent amount of people on here who are here for adoption support. If there was a separate adoption section than we might have a lot more people drawn to this site too.

I can think of tons of topics that would go in the adoption forum:

1. Agency Adoptions
2. Independent Adoptions
3. International Adoptions
4. Foster-Adopt
5. Step-parent Adoptions
6. Family Adoptions
7. Support group for those who are adopted
8. Support for those who are parenting adopted children (it is different then parenting a non-adopted child.)
9. Fundraising for adoption
10. Surrogacy
11. Resources regarding adoption

Within each of these categories, I can see tons of conversations going on. I think creating a seperate forum (maybe even under the parenting thread instead of pregnancy) will encourage more people to turn to babygaga. I know I would direct more people starting the adoption process to this site.

I agree!!

Im extremly new to adopting so all of those topics would be very helpful IMO to discuss. Its one thing to read stuff like this in books but its totally different reading and hearing stories for ladies who have been there done that. I personally find that reading peoples stories about their journeys and answers to different questions is better for me to "trust" I guess you can say.

I have sent this thread onto Mara and hopefully the TTA group will have a bigger support community soon within Baby Gaga :]

I am TTC but I would like to see them being different boards. If I was TTA this board is a nightmare. All the "who's testing this month?", "do you see a line?" and other POAS related threads to go through to try to find that one adoption related thread.

There is a magazine that is all about adoption. It is 1 year for $24.95 or 2 years for $39.95. This magazine comes out every other month.

Heh we've been TTC for 2 years now, adoption talk has come up and it's just such a pain to find the threads here. If Mara doesn't want to add a new board for TTA at least improve the search function.

Mara said she would like to see at least 100 people interested in TTA being separate. Lets get to lookin ;]
