I am pregnant with my second child, I am 42 and I too am considered high risk- due to age and pre-eclamsia that developed with my first child.....My ob is planning on scheduling a C-Section in week 36 for me ( That is considered a full term pregnancy)..I had my 1st child at 28 weeks...He weighed less than 2 lbs and spent 38 day in the NICU...He was breathing on his own after an hour..he only stayed in the NICU so that he could be large enough to safely take home...The good news: He is now almost 6 years old and perfect. We had no additional complications other than him being early...This isn't what I would wish for anyone, but I can tell you the end result of all of this is a perfect son. .. So good luck and know that it will be fine....Everything is developed at 34 weeks and our experience with the NICU staff was amazing
