So what's the pic you posted? Ratemyink?

I totally disagree with you on this. I think it's fine for you to have you opinion, but to coerce a child into a life changing decision isn't fair. What if she grows up to be anti-abortion? How will she feel then. As parents, I believe, our job is to protect and love our children. They are children so they can make mistakes, we have to hold their hands through them. I understand your need to not want any more children in the house, but that isn't good enough to take decision making rights away from your child.

Just as I would be upset if someone came in here saying there were going to kick their daughter out because they had an abortion.

Obviously, it's your opinion to have though. *shrug*

I completely agree with her and for me it's not a hypothetical. My daughter is now 18. I had this conversation with her many times. No babies will be allowed in my home that did not come from my uterus. I willnot help raise a baby born to a teenager. I will not run your non-driving hind end to pre-natal appointments and you will not be allowed to live here. Period. It is my home and my rules. I have given her the tools to avoid becoming pregnant, and not just BC but having honest and truthful discussions with her. I am already having those same discussions with my 12 year old son.
It is my job as a parent to lead my children to the decisions that I think are best for them, and I defnitely feel no child of mine willbe better off for becoming a teen parent. Taking a pill and being done with it, will always be a better option in my book.

I just don't get why people feel that as parents we are allowed to set the rules for our home, but not this rule.

I think because it's such a touchy subject, ya know? Abortion is already a touchy subject.

I've already had enough taking care of my own two kids, lmao, I do not want to take care of their kids when they are teens. I had the two I wanted. I don't want to get stuck with more kids.

But so is addiction and teenagers working or even playing full contact sports. People really get judgemental when people are open & honest and admit we would not help raise a grandchild.

I think it's because most people seem to feel it should be out responsibility to care for our grandkids because it's our child and so we shoud be responsible for their mistakes.

No beuno.

My kid is going to be responsible for ALL their mistakes. Sure I'll help them when I think it's necassary, but not for everything.
