miscarriage & medicaid

well after i found out that my baby never developed wednesday, i miscarried the day after valentines day while at work. I'm coming to terms with my loss but now I'm worried about all the gov't assistance i recieved. I applied for medicaid 1.14.08 & i've been going to the health department since feb.5 when I had my 1st prenatal appointment. Every time the workers asked me if I had medicaid, I could only say that I was waiting for approval & to recieve my medicaid cards. My case worker said its a 45 day process & i havent heard anything from her since january. I have another appointment 2morrow @ the health department & they scheduled another appointment for me at the women's clinic for my last ultrasound & other tests wednesday. I was even approved for WIC but i only had the chance to use it once. Plus i dont know if I will have to continue to go to the doctor for future checkups because of my miscarriage. What do you think will happen to my medicaid coverage?

If you qualified for WIC, you are likely to qualify for medicaid. Even if you don't get your card for a couple more weeks...it will still cover everything for the last 3 months and up to 6 weeks after.When you find out if you are approved, you should get a letter in the mail with your medicaid # on the form. You can usually take that # to your Dr. or pharmacy (if you need meds) and they will normally accept that until you get your card. Good luck!
