lol i'm a little slow tonight, you are being sarcastic, right? 

I lost what would have been 1/2 a gallon of blood when I had my ectopic rupture which is a little over a liter...all internally

I was brought to the er by my husband they questioned him..I was in and out..had no idea what was happening, was scared to death, after what seemed forever, of poking and probing they took me up for surgery where I woke up with someone doing compressions (I had flat lined on the way up from the ER) after surgery I was given three blood transfusions of type specific and was also given blood while having surgery at first they did have my type so I was give O- until they typed me there in surgery...

so it is possible to loose a liter, just VERY dangerous and can result in death if not corrected right away

i agree that it is possible to loose a liter if corrected immediately, but she also said that she lost a lot more once she was at the hospital, she would have had a transfusion. she said that she had lost a liter and then a lot more, which could mean a whole nother liter, which would essentially behalf the blood in her body, i am sorry that is bull. but w/e i'm over it i suppose, i just think it is sad that she is lying about something so serious.

Oh I agree it is sad if she is lying...but there are facts being stated (links and such) that people don't know the whole truth about.

there was a need for the WTF, it was towards your doctors for waiting to test your blood when you were tat close to dying. i think they should have just gotten the universal blood and not waited. it sounded liek your situation WAS dire.

until they know the source giving blood isn't going to help...you can pump in a ton of blood but if you are loosing it faster than getting it there is not point...they find the source of the bleed try to fix it while giving blood

i think she probably exageratted possibly on accident. its easy to forget and confuse things. but a little exageration doesn't mean its all made up and a lie.

but she was saying they waited to test her blood type. i think they knew what the source was...but i'm not sure. but seriously, she was super close to death from what she says. i would hope doctors would just grab some O and worry about typing later.

if that was directed at me then all i said is that by losing in excess of a liter of blood she was lucky to be alive and the stie that i got my information from, but if there are only 4.7 liters in the body it's kind of common sense that loosing about a fourth of that is dangerous to the point of drastic messures(i.e. transfusion. i doubt that she would be conscious through that kind of trauma, let alone be released before being watched for at the very least 24 hours. i don't know it all and i dont claim to, but that kind of seems obvious, but w/e.
