Stretching w/Arms over Head???

posted 15th Feb
Is it true that stretching with your arms over your headcan cause the umbilical cord to go around the baby's neck?? I heard this from someone today and I am very intrigued. Thanks!

no... it's not... you can stretch all you want as long as you are not over doing it... the babies' umbilical cord is on the inside of the uterus

I've heard that before too and I've read about it in some pregnancy books and read about it on the internet.. from what I've read it's just a myth. It doesn't really make sense either when you really think about it... I would think your doctor would tell you not to raise your arms above your head if that was true... I was really worried at first when I heard about that too though!

Totally an old wives' tale. My doc says it's complete rubbish (why WOULD raising your hands over your head cause that??? Doesn't make sent...), though my MIL is convinced it's true...

yeah that makes NO sense at all.. why in the world would raising your arms over your head tangle your ambilical cord??? If that was the case then tons of other things could make it tangle too!

I didn't think it was true and just found it kinda funny...not to mention it just feels so good to stretch sometimes!
