It's not just pitts. If a dog is really pissed no they are not going to let go. My dog Tyson as stated in the post before was attacked by two mixed breed dogs who jumped our fence to get to him. These dogs also would not let go no matter what we did to get them off. My dad was hitting them with two by fours and they still wouldn't let him go. It's not just a breed thing it's a dog thing

Boxers are real cute... my neighbor had a boxer. But he was a little slow. Lol...
My neighbor would throw the ball and his boxer would run the complete other way and look for the ball there.

Most people who own pit's, know their behavior and they wouldn't let an aggressive dog around their baby anyways. Everyone i know that owns a pitt loves them and they are the sweetest dogs, if your worried about the dog attacking the baby you shouldn't have it anyways. Mothers aren't going to keep ANY aggressive dog around a baby

Ha we had a boxer like that. Some of them can be a little bit off. Spencer would watch us throw a stick and come running back to us with a ball or something else. That poor dog I think he was the result of bad breeding

Yeah I see what your saying with that. Not just dogs I see that in... even cats! Or tigers... like that one tiger that ate it's owner? Any animal that inhibit aggression I think...

well if you were to go by pure numbers.. pit bulls are not the breed with most attacks- german sheppards are

I agree!

It is one thing to let my child around my own dog, but to trust just anyone else's dog, that is a different story. Of course I'll let my child play with other dogs, but only when they are supervised. And after owning a "bully breed" I can say that I will never judge a dog soley on it's breed ever again.

Lol aww that's so cute. Yea my neighbor's dog was named Tiger and I swear he was so cute and goofy LIke he had a sense of humor. He'd purposely act silly infront of new people. I really like boxers tho... Not too small and not too big.

Yeah even snakes I would not trust any type of animal that has a tendency of aggression around my child alone. I love dogs but, I want my dog to grow up with my child. So they can be comfortable around each other. It's no telling what a pet will do to your child especially if that child keeps bothering the pet. Babies know no better you know.

Research performed by Goodpooch.com director, the late Marjorie Darby, finds that dogs involved in attacks overwhelmingly have a known history of aggression, even though their owners may deny or minimize this fact. The neighbors are usually a better source for documenting negative aspects of a dog's history than the owners are. As such, it is further evidence that dogs, including "pit bulls", don't just "turn" on their owners. A follow-up to a CDC report on dog bite fatalities came to a similar conclusion.

Yep. I could never see a dog just decide to tear off someones face one day. There has to have been other instances before they lose it. Just like with kids who are shooting up schools the parents think they are such sweet kids but neighbors and classmates normally tell a different story

Yeah... I see what your saying. I have 2 german shepherds at home and although I do trust them... they really haven't been around too many babies (editted) or "small people". Just my cousins that already like as tall as them but not anybody smaller. They are sweet and all to my already existing family. But you just never know! I know that when I bring my baby around them they are really gonna be watched. Just like how they are watched with all children.

They know that the child is not there owner though. Especially if the child came into the house after the dog was aready there. They only have one owner.
