Any one still smoking?

Is anyone still smoking and trying to quit? I need some support here, I hate that I crumbled but after some very bad news I started up again, and need to stop, AGAIN.... anyone out there or am I all alone?

Awwww... it is soooooo hard to quit and stay quit. Don't beat yourself up, but keep trying. You already did it once right? Pat yourself on the back for your triumphs and limit yourself as much as possible until you are able to quit again completely! Good luck!

I admit I haven't quit, but I have cut back a lot. After a few days in the hospital when I have this little man, I hope to come home and not light back up. Smoking is the only thing out of a lot of bad things I've done in my life I've never been able to quit! I was going to get some medication to quit but then I found out I was pregnant and it wasn't safe to use during pregnancy....

no your not alone i was a full time smoker before i got pregnant, i havent managed to stop. but i have managed to cut it down to about only 3 cigs a day. thedoctors say if you cant quit then smoke 1 because the stress of not having one will put stress on u and ur baby, but as long as ur not overdoing it i think itsok.my aunt smoked with all 3 of her kids and they are all fine! alot of women smoked throughout there whole pregnancy and there babies are fine to! just try and cut back.

I am still smoking and I feel just sick about it!! I thought that being pregnant and carring a new life inside of me would make me quit!! I have cut back alot, but I am still smoking 3-4 a day. I feel like I am a bad mom even before it is born. I have been trying to quit, but I get so stressed that I light one up.... So, yes I know how you feel...

it can actually be worse if you quit smoking and it makes you stressed. stress is worse for the baby. so if you feel like you REALLY need a cigarette have one...just cut down

I hate to be mean but if you need somethign to make you feel better eat don't smoke. It's harmful to your baby which should be your priority. Smoking while preggo can lead to preterm labor? What's the matter with you? What is wrong with you mothers that can't quit smoking?????? Have some self-discipline and suck it up 

I was a huge smoker beforeI got pregnant. I admit that I still smoke. I've cut down drastically though.

I had some challenges about quitting. In the first trimester they took me off of all of my psych meds cold turkey and my doc said they didn't want me going through med AND nicotine withdrawl at the same time. It would have been bad for both me and baby.

I'm down to about 3-4 smokes a day. Sometimes not even that. I've managed to go for a week at a time without smoking but for some reason, I start again. My theory is though, every day I didn't smoke is a good day for me and baby. Even if I've slipped up, I'm still trying.

This might sound cliche but one thing that really works is keeping yourself focused on something else. I learned a new crochet stitch and have taken up crossword puzzle books. I also put off that first smoke of the day as long as possible.

andipandi, i was just about to say the same thing you did. yes, smoking isn't good for your baby, but like she said, stress is ten times worse. with my first pregnancy with my son Elijah, i smoked 4-5 cigs a day. after i had him, i had quit for the 3 days of being in the hospital, BUT, he was born with horrible jaundice, and he was in the hospital for 3 1/2 weeks under the billy light constantly. Now having to stay in the hospital for that long, of course had me going back outside and taking smoke brakes, i was ashamed of myself, but considering the doctors were telling me he was so many points from brain damage (he got the jaundice from them using the vacuum on his head) i was stressed, and having a cigerette every now and then was the only way i knew how to cope without going and killing my doctor for doing it to him. Now im pregnant again with my 2nd, and im doing much better with my smoking. Considering that i have a 15 month old to keep up with, i smoke maybe 1-2 cigs a day, and thats when he's taking his daily nap, by the time he goes to bed for good at night, im so exhausted from chasing him around, plus being pregnant, that having a nightly cig is far from my mind.

And all you women who i know are going to come on here and start with the drama, SAVE IT FOR SOMEONE WHO CARES. We can read, we know that when we pick up a pack of cigs that we're going to read the surgeons wanring on it about pregnancy. BUT GUESS WHAT, your not a doctor, i've talked to mine, and he's told me myself, that a few cigs a day is much better than sitting around, biting my nails, and making my stomach hurt from stress. Smoking doesnt always affect your baby, i have a perfect 15 month old to show for that. yeah, smoking a whole pack a day, thats one thing, but if we're trying to lessen it down, then give us credit instead of bashing us. i'm sure you have some bad habbits to, except we have the guts to "SUCK IT UP" and admit it, and try to get suuport for it

it is a nasty habit and even nastier while preggo. it is so great you stopped smoking for the health of your baby. if a growing life inside of you can't make a woman stop her bad habit then i don't know what else will

Get a hobbie..Thats what i do when i stress..I clean something i take my toddler for walks or go make or dosomething for the baby on the way~ or i go shopping...THERE IS NO EXCUSE TO SMOKE WHILE PREGGO.. SO SAVE THAT STORY FOR SOME ONE WHO CARES~ And how ridiculous for a doctor to say stop doing one bad thing for another~ NUTTSSS~

Get off your high horse and come down to my level. Come live my life for a day and see how well you cope..... Don't come on here and give me crap. I am trying and MRS LINDA you are very lucky that you have such a perfect life... enjoy it. Now go bother someone else!!!!!!

I am still smoking and i am so worried i will misscarry because of it i have cut back but my husband smokes and he will light up right there in front of me and it makes it so hard
