So I went to my doctor's appointment yesterday and it went really well and the NP even wrote me a order for the lab to draw my blood tomorrow. I wanted her to check my levels and make sure things are progressing normally. Well got a call just now and my progesterone level is really low and they want to put me on a supplement until the end of my 1st trimester. I am scared that it may be too late, I hope not I guess only time will tell. I will have my blood drawn tomorrow and as long as my levels are rising then I should be okay. I guess I will try not to worry, but it's soooo hard I don't want to go through another M/C.

Hang in there, im sure it will all turn out fine. Sometimes it doesnt matter if they are low at the beginning since it is still early. All that matters is that it doubles every24-48 hours. So just hang in there and wait till you can see a pattern of whats going on. Good luck to you!

What type of supplement? I have to get a progesterone shot every week until I'm 37 wks to make sure I don't go into preterm labor....Did they say anything about a shot?

They didn't mention anything about a shot. I guess progesterone is the hormone that helps keep it all in and my levels are low so they want me to take the pill, which is only 200mg, until the end of 1st trimester. Are they making you take the shot due to your premature labor before?Did you start the shot at the very beginning are after the end of your 1st trimester? Just wondering....I just left a message with my NP to see what my levels are looking like

I wonder if my levels were low!!?!?! Yes, I have to take them because of the preterm labor....I started them when I turn 16 wks and have to get em' until Im 37 wks....you don't want to know where I have to get the shot OUCH!!!! Wish I could take a pill....Also I'm on pelvic rest cause my placenta is low...talking about complications....I read in a mag that Hallie Berry said she enjoy every bit of being pregnant....that gotta be some bull....I just want to make it full term without any complication, hell!

I figured you didn't get them in the very beginning. I don't think your levels were low, because extra progesterone in the 1st trimester could be lethal to a pregnancy. It kind of freaked me out, because the prescription bottle that my prometrium came in has a label on the side that says do not take if pregnant or trying to get pregnant. Apparently my levels are low enough to warrant me taking the small dosage that has been prescribed. However when I get past the 1st trimester I can stop as my placenta should take over and hold the baby in until time. If for some reason it's not capable then I may have to continue the supplement, but I hope not. I can only imagine what that shot feels like.

I guess they prescribe them for different reasons but I tell you its no fun taking a shot sunny side up every week!!! Although they alternate cheeks the pain last all week, my left side will be ready when I go next Tues. but right now I still have a knot on my right side from this past Tues. I guess its a small price to pay for a lifetime of joy....lol.... beside I only have 19 more wks to go....lol

I appreciate that, and I have added you to my prayer list too. I can only imagine the pain, but I know in the end it will all be worth it. The prize definitely outweighs the price.

True...but we'll have them to make it up to us once they are old enough to wash dishes, sweep, vaccum, go get us water and find the remote!....lol!
