It's so crazy that My husband and I were thinking of naming our little girl Claire. I said that I preferred it as a middle name because I couldn't think of any middle names to go with it. We settled on Elise as well. We are both musicians (not professionally) and his family is French Canadian. When they came over from France, they settled in Pointe Claire, and we liked the way Elise sounded. It also reminded us of Fur Elise, the piano tune.
I went to middle school with a girl named Alyce which was pronounced Aleese (with the short "a" sound) instead of E-lise. So, Claire Alyce is another option. My favorite name is Ava Claire, but my husband thinks that Ava is too popular.

I really like Claire Elise -- the middle name is one of my favorites because it's so feminine and flows nicely with practically anything. Plus it reminds me of Beethoven's piano solo Für Elise!

I am thinking of using Claire also. We like Elise, and Illayna or (Elaina), but hubby not set on either, so I thought maybe Claire Caroline after one of my grandmothers. I hope you pick one soon.
