HELP!

Help, My waters broke yesterday. I went in to the hospital and they told me i wasnt dialated and to go home as i wasnt feeling contractions strongly. Im still in the same state of not feeling terrible contractions but Im also not dialating! Is there any way i can induce labour? Im worried as i know problems come after your waters have broken

I don't agree with teh fact they sent you home, but they would've checked you out to mak e sure everything was ok. You'll prob find you go into labour soon

Try walking some. If at any time you feel 'uncomfortable" then you go right back into the hopsital. I feel they should have kept you and started some labor techniques on you but, if labor is a long way off, then its better to wait it out at home.
I hope baby makes an appearance soon. Don't have sex, can cause infection where your water has broken. Try a nice tubby as well.
Good luck to you !

I'd go back. I don't think the baby is supposed to go too long without the water?!! Did they say if nothing changes come back in so many hours?

How the hell does a hospital tell a woman to go home when their water has broken?! That seems dangerous to me. Have you called your doc. You know they are on call. I don't think you should take any chances. They should have you in the hopital right now!!

Omgosh! I would go back, without your water, you could get an infection

Yeah that is odd they sent you home. My doctor told me to call him right away when and if my water breaks and to head to the hospital. I would question the hospital. I would think they would induce you there since its broken. But I don't know much about it since this is my first. lol
Good Luck!

You need to go back to that hospital right away. From what I read and hear your water shouldn't be broken longer than 24 hours, then there should be a baby. You and the baby could get infections. Don't worry about trying to walk or anything to get labor going, and if you are gonna walk, walk straight to that hospital!! That is obsurd that they would send you home being only 34 weeks and your water broke! I hope everything turns out ok!!! Good luck!!

Another note ladies, even if your water has broken, you body still creates it.
When my water broke at home, I was shocked that it kept coming out over and over again in gush's soaking everything. I was in labor for seven hours and with every contraction the waters would gush out some more. I had asked the nurse why that was happening, and she said because your body keeps making it till the baby is born. Just now that the water bag has broken, the water keeps coming out.
I would call your doc as well, and ask his advice.
I don't think labor is far off!!

I would go back to the hospital and bitch big time. There is no way they should have sent you home after your water broke. Technically, the baby should be delivered within 24 hours of the water breaking otherwise the risk of infection is way too high. I would go back...

I just seen that your baby isn't due till March???
Darn straight girlie..get your butt back into that hospital.
And don't leave, you need to be admitted!!!

OMGOSH! Go back! Thats scary!
Um.. Im not the smartest person but isnt that a little dangerous.... HMM....
Even if you have to make things up that are wrong with you, STAY! Dont allow them to send you home again! Thats ridiclous!

Went in today after calling midwife yesterday, she told me that baby could come anytime and to go home wait it out. She got the consultant and he gave me steroids and antibiotics to make sure of no infection and im being monitored three times a week at the hospital, to make sure he's ok and that i am. If he doesnt come in the next two weeks then i'm going to have a syntocin drip to induce me.

this is confusing... are you sure your water broke?? Did your midwife confirm it? i have never ever heard of it being handled this way! Be careful

My water broke with my son at 38 weeks. They said as soon as your water breaks that you have 48 hours to deliver. I don't really understand that. I started getting contractions, but then even gave me pitocin to hurry it along. That sounds really fishy and I would be going back in there regardless of what they say. Sex wouldn't be safe now and they even told me you can't take baths after your water breaks. You have to be really careful...hmm..
