if anyone has a real good solution to this problem please tell me too. i pick up my 7 yr old from school monday cuz he peed himself. its not cuz of the baby either hes been doing it off n on since last january.. there is nothing medically wrong with him the dr thinks its him acting out.. on occasion is # 2 also.. we tried spending more quality time with him and we tried the talking to him thing and stuff like that works for a bit then he starts up again.. he will be 8 in may and not only does he get embarrassed i do to.
so im in the same boat with her. i need help too.

So my son hasnt peed his pants in forever, his teacher gave us stickers and every time he goes 5 days getting stickers he gets a surprise. I dont know this really has helped and he hasnt peed his pants in over a month. He really looks forward to thar sticker and then thaat surprise/

yeah the sticker thing really works we used it when we were potty traing our daughter and she still loves getting stickers.Like others have said it could just be him acting out. But my 7 yr oldniece has a problem where she can't hold her pee.. When she says she has to go you better be close to the bathroom. So it could be something like that. I would take him to the dr and have it checked out..

First of all this 5 year old is boy not a baby and if you are going to give advise give right advise! This is how every mother would talk to a 2 or 3 year old but.... I mean come on this is a 5 year old you take it to a differet level. 

I know this issue has technically been "resolved" ... but just in case someone comes along looking for advice for the same problem ...

My son actually got constipated SO badly (while we were camping one summer ... he was 5,old enough to go to the boys' bathroom but not old enough torealize he was having problems) that he started first peeing and then pooping his pants (google "encopresis"). It damaged the nerves and muscles and he had to retrain them. It's been 4 years and I still have to tell him, after meals, to go sit on the toilet for 5 minutes.

I have the same problem. But its with my daughter. She dont do it regulary. But she only does it when shes outside and dont want to leave her friends to come in and pee. I think she thinks Imma make her stay in. I dunno. I try not to shout or yell...! But its so fustrating. Ive been talking to her letting her know that its not right and lil girls need to use the restroom. I hope it works. She starts school next month.
