re: When should I have the baby shower?

Sure a friend can throw you a shower! That's pretty common. My mom and sister are doing mine. We just decided on the date today because we are doing it at the church hall. I am due June 18 and I am having it on May 4. I think 6 weeks is about the norm, but whenever you like.....

I was reading the proper etiquette of a baby shower online and they said 4-6 weeks is the "proper" time to have a baby shower. They also said it wasn't "proper" to have your mom throw the baby shower. I think the website was called baby shower 101. They have a ton of info and some really neat game ideas.

I had my first at 35 or 36 weeks I believe and my second at 38 weeks, I think. My memory sucks. I wouldn't wait too long because you don't want to go into labor at or before your shower. I wouldn't have it too early either because it might make you even more impatient. Also you want to have a big ol' belly for your shower! I'd say around 32 weeks is the perfect time!
