shocks in stomach

I'm 13 weeks pregnant now and for the past 2 nights I've been feeling shock-like pains in my stomach, either on the right or on the left. They don't last long, and it's happened when I lyed down in bed to go to sleep. Anyone know why this happens?

I've been feeling the same thing for a little while. I thought it might be nerves or ligaments or something...I'm going to keep checking to see if anyone had an idea!

yeah its pretty much your ligaments. i used to get them all the time now i get these small little contractions.

I have gotten them too, but not often.....LOL it's probably baby moving around and uterus stretching..

I had that too when I was preggers. I think that its just everythign trying to get set up, or @ leastthats what I was told. Nothing went wrong & everything was fine. GOOD LUC KTO YOU ALL!!

i dont get them when im just laying still...but if I turn quickly or something..i get a sharp pain...its weird...

My dr. says they are "growing pains"..... another words..... your kid is growing, your getting fat and there's nothing you can do to help the pain!
They hurt like hell sometimes too....

oh I am just glad I am not the only one feeling this then!! yeah I just keep thinking it's just STUFF MOVING AROUND in me, lol...thanks ladies!

It's called round ligament pain, I had them so bad at 12-15 weeks! Its your uterus stretching and your tummy growing! They did seem to come more often at night, be sure you are drinking ALOT of water during the day, it seems to help!

actually I'm feeling it right now too, I am sitting down at work and just felt it on my left side (right above my belly button on right side)...it's like a sharp shock for a second and goes away! it's kind of scary!

Ya it gets better! I am 19 weeks tomarrow and havent had them in about 4 weeks or so. I feel sorry for you though! I remember them stopping me in my tracks at work sometimes! My OB told me to also put my feet up at night and rest when I needed to!

I am feeling the same way.. and I am in so much pain, so so much pain. They are way worse then period cramps, feels like someone is stabbing me below my belly button

oh yeah I remember back when I was earlier on I would get them below my belly button, it was weird...and now they've moved up to my stomach area. It definately sounds like it's all the stretching and stuff moving around inside.

i had them and still have them my doctor and the doctor at the hospital told me its just the uturus streching dont worry about it to much i was so scared when it started happening. just dont stress about it to bad remember stress is NOT good when your pregnant....
