He's destroying my house!!

posted 5th Feb '08
AAHHH!!! I feel like just screaming! my 2 year old is almost too much to handle sometimes. He definitely is at the worst of the terrible 2's. Tonight, he went into the bathroom, locked the door and then poured out all my moisturizer & foundation. when i finally got the door open it was everywhere! even all over the mirror. so i was cleaning that up and then went in the kitchen and he had broken all of his crayons and thrown them all over the place. i made him pick those up himself! Now he just kicked the cat! phew. this was much easier to keep up with before the second one came along. he's learned to tell me no, which is great let me tell you what.(saracasm) Love him to death but cannot wait til he's a little older.Im sure i'll look back and miss this time.

Wow, sounds like a typical day in my house!! My son isn't quite 2 yet, but he is definitely getting there. He gets into EVERYTHING. I can only imagine what it will be like when his little brother gets here soon.

My now 4 year old went through a phase when she was about 2 where she would find sunscreen and put it everywhere. That was the worst! Think about it sunscreen is designed to not wash off. She would put it all over the walls, in the carpet, on her, in her hair, onour cats, she had no mercy! lol. And what really got me is it would take her maybe 2 minutes to do all the damage and I was stuck trying to clean it all up and watch her and her sister. BTW I always make her help me clean up the messes she makes, even if in the process it makes a bigger mess.

I learned to be good at hiding things. If they don't see it they won't touch it (not always the case but usually), start locking things up in your bedroom if you have too (if you have a lock on your bedroom door and if not maybe you should invest into one). Believe me its so much easier that way. My son is still destroying things and he just turned four years old but I don’t have the option to lock things up right now so I make sure I hide them really freaking well. He still finds things from time to time but it’s does make life much easier.
