5 mo old trouble sleeping through the night

posted 4th Feb '08
I have a five month old son who used to sleep through the night. Now hes waking up a couple timesa night. I didnt change his routine or anything. Im way to nervous to put him on his belly as two other ladies suggested.

Ladies have any tips?

and when are babies in the clear for sleeping on their bellys (if at all)?

my baby did the same. She was doing so good at night, but then she started waking up. Lol and I lay my baby on her tummy, she does stay asleep longer.

If they are strong enough to roll over, then they are strong enough to hold their heads up and sleep on their tummy.

Averi is 5 months also and doesnt sleep through the night. She gets up 1-2 times night for some bottle, then back out. We've gotten SOuse to it now. Not to mention she's been teething for almost 2 months and is just starting a growth spurt i believe. Teething nights are dreadful but rare. Then again, every night is different. Averi is not a "scheduale" baby, she keeps us on our toes. We pretty much follow her lead anymore.
Like i said before she was born "Sleep is for the weak. I'll catch up when she's a teen....maybe" lol.
Sorry i have no advise, but i just thought id let ya know your not alone.

Vince stopped sleeping through the night right around four months. Apparently some babies go through a big developmental leap around 19 weeks or so that can cause them to stop sleeping through the night. It's commonly referred to as the four month sleep regression. I realize your baby is five months, but some hit it slightly earlier, and some hit it later. Vince is almost six months old and we just recently started only waking up once a night again.

Hi

Brooke began night waking again during that age because of teething, they can also begin to wake during the night again if they're going through a developmental phase (like trying to crawl?)
