re: No embryo visible at 6 wks?? Just the sac??

Sorry to say I don't have good news. I went in for my 3rd ultrasound (8weeks) and still no fetal pole or baby. Since my uterus had grown, but my gestational sachad not gotten any bigger from the week before, my OB was finally convinced that it was a blighted ovum. After going through my options, we agreed that the best fit for us would be to have the D&C done. I'm now scheduled for surgery on Wednesday. The good news is, I only have to wait one cycle before we can try again. The bad news is... we have to try again. I've finally come to terms wtih it, after 4 weeks of not knowing. I'm convinced it was because it wouldn't have been a "good" pregnancy, and that God will provide only good seed.

the great thing is after a blighted ovum, women go on to have perfectly healthy next pregnancies!

I am so sorry to hear that. That is hard. This is the second time that this has happened to me. However, we did go in for the 8 week ultrasound and all is well and there is a little baby there. Its just so hard. Are you sure you want to go and do that so early? I have heard people not seeing anything until even later than that?? And they almost had a D&C and then ended up with a baby after deciding to wait?? Just a thought. Let me know how it goes and know you always have us!! But good attitude about it all...that is totally how I felt. I knew that if God chose the blighted ovum it was purposeful and I was not gong to question that. I will pray for a quick pregnancy!! Keep me posted!

WE GOT BABY ACTION!!! LOL!!!

We are so excited that there was a little baby in there at our last ultrasound!! Wow!! This is the second false alarm with the empty sac. Starting to wonder why the ultrasound so early when it scares the patooties out of some women and causes more stress than needed when doing the ultrasound too early?
