Too early???

My doctor told me that at my next doctor's visit they will be able to tell me what sex my baby is but I will only be 12 weeks....is that too early to find out?

Some may be able to tell, I personally think it may be too early, but she might have meant to say, we will try to see what it is.

That is usually is too early, but it could happen! I can't believe your dr. actually told that so early though, he might have gotten your hopes up!

mine told me at 15 weeks and i still make him check to make sure she is still a SHE just incase!

Thats way early most doctors recommend between 18-20 weeks.

is it possible that she though you were a few weeks further along? My doc thought I was 12weeks when I went in for my first appt...lol I was only 7weeks, but they were going by the last time they saw me not my last period. Oops! Docs make mistakes too...lol But maybe they will be able to see, I've heard that it can be detected as early as 13weeks, so heck why not?  

They told me at my 11 week appt. that my next appt would be the ultrasound. Little did I know that they meant the 15 week appt. was a normal one and I had to wait until the 15 week appt. just to schedule the ultrasound for the next apt. because it's supposed to be done between 18 and 22 weeks. They check for everything not just the sex and its supposed to take about an hour they said.

They can tell you the sex of your baby as early as 13weeks but some are not 100% sure though

My sonogram tecnician told me that I needed to wait until 16 weeks because girls have a tendency to be swollen down there and can easily be mistaken for a boy.

My doctor told us at 13 weeks that we were having a girl.... but at our 20 weeks scan he was definately ALL BOY.

I wouldn't go crazy buying boy/girl stuff if they do tell you.

At twelve weeks, the crotches are almost identical still. The both look like they have a penis at that point...its AT 12 weeks that they start to form into their proper sex organ. But thats just the start.......I dont think you'll get an accurate guess then. Thats very odd.

i found out at 15 weeks i had to go over 2 the ER cause i had gotten hit in the belly hard. they told be o wow she is an active lil girl.. in my 18 week i went for another and the said yup is a girl

It's not usually a very good time to tell...most every doctor I've talked to now a days wont even tell you until your close to 20 weeks. I was hope to find out at 16 by my Midwife said nope at least 18...
