Prenatal Vitamins

I have a question about prenatal vitamins, I am going tonight to buy some since we are trying to concieve right now. I was wondering if it fine to just go out and buy the walmart or gnc brand or should I go to the doctor and get them. I am just worried that the ones at Walmart arent as regulated as those prescribed by a doctor. I am probably just being paranoid but I thought I would ask what everyone one esle took and what they thought about just getting them from Wal-mart.

i used the prenatals from walmart when I ws pregnantwith my daughter and shes just fine ... they are smaller than the horse pills that the dr gave me .... which is a blessing for me   good luck

As long as it is a prenatal, I think you are fine! They just all have different % of what's in them!!!

my prenatals made me sick so my OB told me to take Flinstone chewables and a folic acid suppliment.

Well thats good to know because I hate swallowing big pills.

The prenatals from Wal-Mart are fine. Some doctors even have their patients just buy them at the pharmacy. I am currently taking a Women's One A Day Complete (which I was taking before I got pregnant) and added a folic acid supplement per my doctor's suggestion. Good luck TTC!

They are fine, girl! Just be careful to take them after you eat food so you don't get sick! That's the only thing that is different about the kind the doc prescribes.

I will tell you if you get prenate rx prescribed, They are light pills and are EASY to swallow!!!! They are on the $4 list at Walmart!!!! And they smell and taste like vanilla.....I'm glad I switched to them!!! Hope this helps.

Alright then looks like I will just go out and get them from Wal-mart. I figured they were probably fine because they still sell them lol. But I am paranoid about everything since I started TTC.

I actually took the Wal-Mart brand during my entire pregnancy. I tried the prescription ones but they made me sick. They will be fine to take while TTC and probably much cheaper.

I am so glad we didnt end up there. At first I hated Alaska but now its started to grow on me I guess. I like the base but so far havent found any really nice people yet lol. Everyone I've met so far is so rude. I think its because me and my husband look so young. Hes 20 I am 22. But he looks maybe 18 on a good and every one thinks I am 16. Oh well I guess.

the pharmacist at walmart said that the only difference between the walmart and prescription is that the prescription contains a higher miligram of folic acid in it which i good for spinal development and stuff   its ok tho to use them when i run out of my precription ones i just take those ..
