dravet syndrome

Has anyone heard of this?

I have, one of my uncle has it.

Did it result in him being mentally challeneged?

Not completely he didn't learn things as quick as other kids he is just a little slower and has a hard time finding a job but i think that has to do form when he injured his back more then anything.

the job part not the learning thing. He did have a hard time in school. I dont think he ever finished either but I"m not completely sure

Wow. Gives me a little more hope. Every where I have read says that they become mentally challeneged and the rate of dying is 18% and its just so scary to think about you know?
They think my son has that gene mutation but we are waiting for the dna test to be approved and here I am just worried in the mean time with information that really gives no hope for a completely normal life.

Yeah its hard for him he still lives at home with his mom. My grandma. But good luck i hope all turns out well.
