Broncilitis :0(

  Poor Silas.. he has had a cough for over a month... been on amoxicillin and everything. finally got to go back to doc and he says he has bronchiolitis. which we figured bc orion gets it once a year and we have experienced it. so we had to go get an xray bc the doc thinks it may be turing to anemonia. the sad thing is we take really good careof our kids and they get so sick and then you see people with no socks on babies or no jackets blankets etc and they r fine. anyways, i have tried every home remedy i can think of to help with the coughing but if anyone has any other ideas HELP. i have done breathing treatments, humidifier, infant vapor rub, sitting in hot bathroom, saline drops and the nose thing...i think thats all... any advice??? i feel so bad for him and orion began to get it so hes back on breathing treatments too and he has an ear infection which is usually what silas has....poor sicklys... thanks for any ideas  

Try rubbing vicks on the bottom of his feet. Be sure to put socks over them to not get his bedding all yukky. I know you're probably sitting there going "huh?" But it does work. And its safe for babies. If it doesnt work for you...I would try another doctor. A month is just too long for a baby to be sick. They should have admitted him into the hospital by now. My son got bronchitis when he was 6 months old...and was admitted right away. Within dayys, he was showing good progress. We did the breathing treatments/vaporizers, etc. too. But, they gave him steroids through an IV and thats what they need when they're that young. Their lungs arent strong enough to fight off something this serious. The steroids do the job real good. I hope he feels better soon...poor little guy.

ok ill go get some when hubby wakes up bc he had him up all night too and all i have is the johnsons baby rub for his chest its not too strong. yes i know i kept saying hes not getting better etc. and they said wait two weeks after hes on meds and he got WORSE!! so now here we r.

i remember they used to give orion oral steroids for it but didnt give silas anything. OMG he looked so bad last night and he looked bad today too. he screamed when i gave him a bath and we usually cant get him out. i got vicks and did the feet thing. thank you and i also got baby kind for his chest neck and back and then the vaporizer etc. i hope he looks better tomorrow or i may be calling bc he looks so much worse.... i know they made appt for thurs but i feel thats too long and we r supposed togo back home next week to see both of our families.....

Yeah, if he's still bad in the morning, your doctor should squeeze you in. If he's a good one anyways. I've always been able to get right in, in matters like this. Good luck, hugs to your little one...poor thing. I feel so bad for him.
