Quoting Mrs von T.:" ? really?"
Quoting Lovin my husband daughter:" Here is a picture of my daughter her name is Aubriana and she is 10 months. I know it' s only half of ... [snip!] ... but I was trying not to put myself in the picture (hair isn't done) lol...but I think she is good mix of me and my husband! "
Quoting Lovin my husband daughter:" Hey BG ladies I hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday it is so close to the weekend so I just wish ... [snip!] ... way like "not mixed" do they seem to be disappointed? (This is for all races not just limited to black and white!) Thanks"You know, I hate to say it, but yes, there are alot of people out there who think the way this woman described. I grew up in South Africa, and am considered "Coloured", meaning of mixed descent. If you're too dark in the "Coloured" group, then it's considered "unfortunate." If you're lighter skinned in the Black community, you're considered "fortunate." I was surprised to find the same line of thinking among various racial/ethnic communities in Minnesota, where I currently reside. I get it from all groups...Some of my Black friends tease me about having such a fair baby with blue eyes. They don't mean harm, but I think it has something to do with whole concept of whether she's really "African" because of her skin color, etc. Then White people think she is so "exotic" because she has curly hair and almond shaped eyes like me. I think you topic is part of a larger question regarding the effects and impacts of race construction.
Quoting [♥]Jessica[♥]:" If I had a child with a black man, I would want it to have like olive or medium color skin. Like a mixture ... [snip!] ... I don't know why a child has to have a "race" name, like why can't they just have something normal that anyone would use? "
Quoting Mrs. Dexter Morgan:" I think its weird lol."
Quoting Mrs. Dexter Morgan:" I think its weird lol."
Quoting Mrs von T.:" She's gorgeous! It wouldn't matter if she were purple. she'd still be gorgeous!"
Quoting casey[is PREGNANT]:" yeppp! Its crazy because my SO is cajun..he has dark skin, black hair & black eyes..and my daughter ... [snip!] ... i have green eyes!! so its kinda neat that a brown/black eyed person & a green eyed person made a bright blue eyed baby."
Quoting Charlie's Angels:" You know, I hate to say it, but yes, there are alot of people out there who think the way this woman ... [snip!] ... shaped eyes like me. I think you topic is part of a larger question regarding the effects and impacts of race construction."
