We're at a standstill, please help!!

Ok... I am breastfeeding my 6 month old, Julia.
She seems fairly content with her "nums", or breastmilk.
The doc also gave us the go-ahead on Stage 2 food.
The catch? She's not gaining weight quick enough. She's almost 11lbs. But she was born a little over 7, and... her weight seems to be at a standstill.
The pediatrician says to give her formula! I don't want to, but I am trying! I have tried every single bottle I could find. We seem to have the best luck with the generic, cheap nipples. Go figure. But... she will only take breastmilk out of the bottle, NOT formula.
Do any of y'all have any tips for giving formula to a beautiful, stubborn 6 month old? I won't be on for a few days, but I'll come back Monday... maybe y'all can help? They're wanting to run tests on her if she doesn't gain! Please pray for us.

i had to mix like 3/4 bm to 1/4 formula and slowly up the formula at first for ethan. he got used to it eventually. and he really liked the breastflow bottles.. its a lot like nursing

Maybe you could start by mixing it with breastmilk. First use mostly breastmilk w/ a little formula and each time add a little more formula til it is all formula. Good luck!

Have you tried having someone else give her the bottle? My hubby gives her a bottle...I never do. Sometimes babies associate you with breastfeeding so much that they don't want a bottle from you....just a suggestion!

i don't see how formula is better than breastmilk. but, my only advice is to start mixing it. say 75 breast 25 formula. see if she takes that. if she does (you might end up stictly pumping) slowly move her up the ladder increasing formula decreasing breast. do it slow though. if it gets to the piont where she stops taking the bottle go back to the last measurment that she took the bottle, stay at that for awhile then try again.
