community colleges have language courses

try your local library. The one here offers all sorts of classes free.

I don't really have any advice as to where you should go, but whatever classes or tapes or whatever you end up using, do it with a friend so you can practice together. Have "spanish lunch" once a week or do "spanish shopping". I've found you can take all the classes you like but if you don't use it in every day life it never really sticks.

true that. i was so much better when i talked with my mom in spanish, now i have no one to practice with here
