Yes, it's time for another Public Service Announcement.

Please be aware that "I'm not racist, but..." is possibly the stupidest way to start a sentence/post etc.

The fact that you preface your statement with a rider that you are not racist shows that you are fully aware that there is something negative about another race in what you are saying. Making a generalized, disparaging comment about an entire race is racism.

So, while you might not consider yourself a racist, and I'm not going to say that you are because I don't know anything about you other than what you've just said online, what you just said online was in point of fact, a racist statement.

Stop hiding behind such a flimsy, verbal shield. If you genuinely believe what it is that you're saying, own it. "Right" or "wrong", it's what you believe, so just say it flat out without trying to mitigate it with a halfhearted attempt to convince people that you're tolerant and loving despite whatever negative thing it is that you're saying about an entire race of people. Trying to protest that you're not a racist just makes you look more racist than your comment alone would have.
