Bad Mommy ?

Am i a bad mommy becuase i want to wait till i'm 4 mos or atleast 3 and a half ...to get my first u/s from the doc...

what is the longest i can wait ...

i'm taking care of my self and baby by doing everything im supposed to be doing ..

what do u guys think ???

well your doctore should tell you when they want you to get your ultrasound. My doctor made me get one at 14 weeks this time because i've had miscarriges. You'll get another one probaby around 20-25 week? I would say just do whatever the doctor wants you to do

I think since you are so young that it shouldn't really be a problem.

Why are you choosing not to have a scan until then?

Why do you want to wait so long? Just curious because I couldn't wait for my first U/S. I had my first one at 9 weeks so we could see how far along I was.

Well to be honest life .. its really so hectic i work all the time and i need to work to get moneys for baby hubby does well what he does and thats really when i can get off im bearly getting into my 3rd month im 11 weeks right now soo... blah i know thats why i feel as if im a bad mama to my un born baby

I was 16 weeks when I got my first u/s and the baby is just fine...granted they thought I was 12 weeks but it was still later than most first u/s..I think as long as you and your OB see no problem with it then it's fine.

I had my son when i was 19 and she only let me get 1 ultrasound at18 weeks I would of loved it if she would of let me have one sooner just to know everything is ok

I think the scans are a good idea, to make sure you are progressing fine and there are no complications.

Maybe you could find a doctor that is open on Saturdays and go then? So you don't have to miss work.

But like I said, most complications happen in older women. Unless you have a family history.

Good question... I just re-read the OP and was about to ask the same thing.

I was 18 weeks (doc said 19) when I first went to see him, I had not gone to anyone except to have the blood test to say i was preggy at 4 weeks.... I couldn't get there either I live 8 hour fight away, but baba is fine 100% healthy and blood tests showed I was too. I don't think I am a bad mama, I will be going for my second doc appointment 26 Feb, I am due begining of May....
I am looking after myself, and if I had any problems I would be on the first flight out of here but I am fine so I will hang in another 3 weeks.

Well see thats good to see that I'm not the only person who didnt go right away I'm just tired of people just judging me as a bad person cause i havent went right away ..

Well that's good that you have at least been there once. I have been going every 4 weeks since I got pregnant and I have to start going every 2 weeks soon because I'm getting twords the end. I look forward to my appointment every month just so I know everything is still going perfectly.

I didn't have my first scan until 13 weeks... then I only had one more at 20 weeks. Some people never have scans if they go through a midwife.
