RSV Rant

Im sure most of you know that my daughter and I were pretty sick recently. We were at the hospital where they took a nasal test from Alex. The doctor said it was to check for Influenza. Now I don't know if he got confused, or forgot which test he did, but it turns out it was for RSV [Respiratory Syncytial Virus]. Well, anyways. They told us since it was for Influenza and after the third day it couldn't be treated, we could go home before the results came in. So we did with instruction to have a follow up with the Pedi withing one week. Sooo, yesterday [a bit over a week] we had her and my son at the doctor for sick visit. Our doctor is asstounded to find out that in her chart is a possitive result for RSV. He tells us about it and we are equally shocked, because we had no idea she was actually tested for it. Long story short, it could have become very dangerous for her and our son. It isn'tm as bad in toddlers as it is in kids under 1yr. But still, how did the ER doctor mix that up?! He told us her oxegen lvl was about 96, wich is fairly low to the 100 it should be. Honestly, I am never taking them to that hospital again. I'll take the 20min drive to her Pedis hospital next time.
Luckily our son is past the hibernation period for RSV and he shows no syptoms. He has a cough but as long as it isnt constant, and he isnt weezing, he should be fine. *sigh of releif*
