Babies born at 35-36 weeks?

posted 29th Jan '08
Just wondering how many babies have to spend time in the NICU born at 35-36 weeks. My last daughter was born at exactly 36 weeks (barely a premie) and went home when I did. She did get a little jaundice but that was her only problem. This pregnancy is expected to end around the same time and was wondering how many healthy babies were delivered...
Thanks!

I gave birth at 36 weeks and Lilly is still in the hospital only because she acts like a 32 week old and she had breathing problems.
Dr said she could probably go home next week sometime.

my oldest son was born at 36 wks..he stayed in for 10days as he had jaundice quite bad and also was not feeding couldnt suck on a nipple or a bottle..so was fed though a tube in his nose..he weighed 5lbs 10oz..but apart from that he was in good health...and now 16yrs old he is taller then me ...with my second child i was told that she would be early but she was two weeks late..subborn as hell she was..so i wont worry to much and they say the more children you have the bigger they are..she came out 6lbs 7oz..no 3 was 6lbs 10oz and my fourth was 7lbs..so please dont stress yourself out hun..good luck

Both of my girls were born at 36 weeks. My oldest spent 9 hours in NICU because she was breathing "funny" and was then fine. My youngest was born perfect healthy.

They really don't know why she is acting like that but he said it does happen a lot in a preemie.
She weighed 6 pounds 4 oz(haha nice preemie eh?) but she's droped a lot of that weight because she's not retaining water anymore!
She's doing better and better every day! thanks

My firs daughter weighed the same at full term. Imagine that. When I brought home my 2nd daughter she only weighed 5lbs. 6 oz. So tiny when I look at her baby clothes.

Averie was born at 35 weeks. Weighed 3 lbs and 12 ozs and 16 inches long. I had an emergency sec. due to Placenta/cord problems. She was in NICU for 4 and a half weeks, she was in an incubator for 3 and a half weeks and then to a crib. She weighed 4 lbs and 6 ozs when we brought her home.
She is now 11 months old, weighs close to 20 lbs, and I measured her this morning at 30 inches!

My baby was born 11/6/07 just 1/2 week shy of 35 weeks, but he was TINY .. 3 lbs 1 oz. and 16' long. He had NO Problems other than TINY THANK GOD! He was on oxygen for under 12 hours, and was a little jaundice, but they claim that's TOTALLY NORMAL for a preemie. He spent 22 days in the NICU until he could do a few things ... 1.) Steadily gain weight, 2.) maintain body tempture 3.) Maintain body weight gained 4.) Eat on his own, with out any gavage feedings. (Feeding through the nose) I was told he probably wouldn't come home until around my actual due date which was to be 12/22/07, but after 22 days he was released. One of the happiest days of my life! SO .. to answer your question .... Hunter was HEALTHY, just TINY   As of YESTERDAY, he is NOW 8lbs 5 oz.

Best of luck with your new baby

My little lady was born at 36 weeks and one day. I went through chemo during my entire pregnancy because of cancer...had no choice. Chemo brought on preterm contractions. They stopped those but at 36 weeks my water broke. She was born 100% heatlthy at 6 lbs 2.8 oz and 18 inches long. She never had any trouble. She needed no NICU. She has some reflux but other than that she is fine. She is now over 11 lbs and around 23 inches long! She is about 2 1/2 months old now

I had my daughter at 36 weeks and 2 days (December 22) her weight was 4lbs 15oz and her only problem was jandice and she got to stay in the room with me the hole time with no problems well of course they had to come check her temp and blood sugar every 3 hours but it was always good and she had to have the blood work for the jandice 2 times but we were only in the hospital for 2 days.

SHe is now 7 weeks old and doing great she is getting sooo big from her looks we havent had a doctors appt since Jan.7th and her weight was 5lbs 9oz She goes in for her 2 month old needle at the end of the month and i will get her weight then as well but she had out grown most of her preemie clothes last week.
