re: The Struggles of TTC Support Group!

Hey ladies! Kinda quiet in here, hope everyone is doing well.
Today I dragged my DH to a TTC seminar / tour of the maternity ward at the hospital where (God willing) we will have our baby. I have to say it was (expectedly) a little awkward as most of the couples at the seminar were new to TTC and haven't dealt with infertility. Nonetheless, it felt good to think positive
Though it remains to be seen what our next step will be, I feel a new sense of hope and as crappy as this process has been - it was nice to get a little glimpse of the hopeful end result!

That's nice that your hubby went too! My husband has been great through this whole thing, but I think even he feels like he walks on eggshells around me sometimes. Like when we have to go to baby showers for his family. Ugh.
I've been silently lurking most of the time. Just started my first (hopefully last) round of injectables. 225 IU of gonal F and 5 IU of lupron for an IUI cycle.
Baby dust!!!

It has been quiet in here! Happy to hear from you. That's awesome that you were able to tour the hospital, I want to do that! Which one? I am very hopeful for you guys and I'm always thinking of you! xoxo

Same here. My husband has been very quiet about TTC since day 1. Especially when we started having trouble. It means so much when they start showing support! Men are seriously a different breed of human lol
I hope this cycle brings you lots of (well deserved) luck!! If you don't mind me asking - was it hard getting used to injectables? I'm nervous to start all of that :-/

Thank you so much! I think you are such a strong woman & I'm very thankful that we met. I think of you all the time as well!! We seriously need to get together! ASAP. We are slacking! ;)
We toured Metrowest Medical in Framingham. I was blown away! They have a beautiful maternity facility. Worth looking into!

Awww! You are SO sweet, I have been having such a hard time lately and that made me smile- I needed that! I agree we definitely need to meet up soon!
That's awesome!! I heard they have a great maternity center too. I was going to go there but my doctors pulled out of that hospital and now are delivering out of newton Wellesley which is beautiful too!
I know you said you weren't sure about the next step, but any plans at all on what's to come?

Injectables was something I wanted. I was all excited when they gave me the green light to start. I got home and got everything set out and started to cry. It was daunting. So much to consider. Then I couldn't help wondering if I was doing it all right lol. But honestly, they don't hurt. My biggest complaint is that one of the meds I'm on is giving me upper back aches. Like my deltoids are aching so bad right now. I actually have my son help me with them. He swabbed my tummy and "helped" me inject ;). He wants his little brother to come out of his "egg". I love that he can be involved. (He's 4.) if you have any specific questions if be happy to answer them. The gonal f pen looks waaaay harder than it is!! It's actually petty simple.

How did you feel in general while on them? Like were you able to do your every day things? I ask because we start IVF in December and I usually host a Christmas celebration at my house but I'm nervous as how I'm going to feel.

Aw I'm sorry *Hugs* but glad to make you smile! This process is crazy - some days I feel so optimistic and other days not at all.
Newton Wells is beautiful! My niece was delivered there last year, my sister had a great experience.
We're thinking about switching REs to get a second opinion about what our next step should be. We've been going to Boston IVF and I'm not crazy about our RE there. Thinking after the holidays to set up a consult with RSC - you go there, right? All of our testing is already done so I'm hoping it'll be an easy switch and they can just look over everything and tell us what they recommend.

I highly recommend RSC. We have Dr. Digirolamo and we love her!

Well, I was goo to tell you that I feel no different, but when I did them tonight I felt kind of funky. I got a little light headed...but I also hadn't eaten in HOURS. But other than tonight, I feel fine. My injection sites don't hurt, they're actually kinda itchy. And I only bruised the first time. I feel bloated though. My "fat pants" feel like my skinny pants lol. And my ovaries feel like two balled up fists inside me. But I'd take the way I feel right now every day the rest of my life if this gets me pregnant.

Aww I hope you feel better. But that's what I thought I would feel like... like run down, and swollen lol. My MIL and DH will help me with hosting christmas, She even said we can do it at her house, but I honestly think I'd feel more comfortable at mine especially with doing the injections etc. I'll have to stock up on some baggy clothes, lol.
We start in December, as long as DH's surgery goes well end of November, and they find sperm. *Fingers crossed! Please pray for us... I'm so nervous and will be sick to my stomach every day until his surgery... I may go out of my mind waiting!

I'm glad that you will have help! I felt fine after I ate something earlier, so I'm 99% positive that I would have been fine if I had eaten something before I took my injections.
I am praying for you! You and your husband have been through so much. They will find his swimmers! I just know it!

Glad you feel better! Thank you so much I really appreciate that! I'm hoping we find some. I'm trying to stay as positive as I can.
