So you can apply to the program without being done with all your prereq's, or how does that work?

same here, although if you have anatomy, speech, english, and developmental psych done by the time you apply, based on your grades you get points, 4 for a, 3 for b, and 1 for c, and they base whether or not you get accepted, and when you start for the year on what those point totals are. you used to get points for prior nursing employment experience, but there were surprisingly not many that had so eventually they did away with those points.

Oh wow your just like me have every thing planned out, this and this and this and if that dont work then your doing this and this lol. I am going back to high school for one more semester, them starting my first year Arts and Science in Jan of 2012. Only smurffy part about the local collage i am starting at is you can only take 3 classes at a time. So doing one semester there. Then hoping to transfer to the University in fall of 2012 to finish my first year Arts and Science, if not then i will just stay at the local collage and do my classes there. Then hoping once i get those 10 classes done i transfer to the university of nursing.

What are the 4 co-reqs? Gosh our counselors suck, one will tell me one thing and another will tell me something totally different.

well I guess they're not really pre reqs, just general classes that are needed for the degree. the only "pre reqs" we have are have to be CNA in good standing, have to pass reading and math competency tests, have to pass med terms, and I think that's it? I'd have to dig my paperwork out to know for sure.

i have another year as well before nursing nursing. We have to have very high marks as well, if you have below a 70 they dont even look at you period. The higher marks you have the higher on the list you go.

Im in the program. Im in a nursing class with a lecture and lab, dosage calculations, and pharmacology. Its def hard classes and they are 11weeks long since the program is accelerated. I just started these classes last week and my due date is 4 days from now. I highly recommend birth control during nursing school. Lol

That's how my school is. I had all As to get in. Now im just trying to graduate with honors. GPA is a big deal here.

there's a girl at my work, she just started the program in january, so if she goes according to schedule she'll be done with lpn at the end of this year (christmas) and then provided she passes boards she'll go into rn january of 2012. she's due to have her first baby in like...july or august I want to say? definitely not jealous of her thats for sure.

So am i the only One who needs one year of Pre-Nursing university year before being able to get in to the nursing program

We have generals which are like math, english, Sociology, etc. But then we have some that count as both generals and preregs like communications, philosophy, psychology, med term. I have taken 10 classes and I think I need like 9 more plus my CNA to get into the program. Our CNA is not required but they do have a higher chance of being accepted into the nursing program especially if they get sponsored and commit to working at a hospital after finishing the RN program.

what is A and P

Once coming out of High school you have to have one year Pre-Nursing university Arts and Science. So have to have these classes completed first before getting in to the nursing program English (3 credits)
