Something German...anyone from Germany? or Nordic?

My husband's name is Dietrich Johann...and our last name is very much a German last name. I'd love to keep in with the tradition of his name, but I want something very unusual.

While I don't think they are German in origin, I do like Dorian or Dante or Dmitri or Demetrius (alot of D's.) My hubby likes the name Aryan, but I'm not too keen on it, and we both agree on liking the name "Seven"...very uncommon, but our lucky number that we somehow live by, and sounds like Sven...any other "old world" names that pop out in your heads?

I went to school with a Seven, oh man he never heard the end of how his name was a number haha...

I love Dante.

it's not german but, I really like Declan. It's Irish so, I don't think that's what you are going for but, It's a D name, it's kinda old and I really like it.

If this baby were a boy we'd name him Maxwell Ransom. Ransom is my husbands great uncle's middle name.

It's not old world but, I also like the names Mercer and Simon.

my grandmother is German.She had a little brother named Enie. Very Greman name....

"Dante" is my favorite right now because its meaning is "to endure, withstand"...which is PERFECT, because I can barely endure this pregnancy!!! I'm throwing up constantly!!! HAHA...

thanks. we thought it was a bit weird for a first name and my husband is a huge fan of the painter Maxfield Parrish. I couldn't name my son Maxfield so, we compromised with Maxwell. I was going to let him have a family middle name since our son has my traditional middle name for the first son. Douglas.

I think Maxwell Ransom could either be a Dr. or an artist of some sort. either way it would suit him.

well, Max is a pretty hapenin' name if you ask me *L* But, this is probably our last baby. (As soon as one of us gets used to the idea of no more the other one changes there mind.) So, We will probably never use it.
