If your periods are irregular, like 42+ days long, how do you know when to start testing for ovulation? I'm currently on CD42, not sure how long they usually last, this is my first time tracking.

1. Get a basal thermometer.
2. Get at least 4 hours of good sleep before taking temp
3. Take Ur temp at or around the same time everyday.
4. DONT get or of bed, drink, talk, ect before taking temp
5. U can take Ur temp orally or vaginally (is that a word lol?) But stick to one.

temping basically tells u when u ovulated. Personally i get a dip before i ovulate, than i get a 2-3 day climb. ( some woman get a one day spike) than ur temps stay high, my temp goes back to "normal" a day or two before my period comes. If it stays high u could be pregnant.

Every woman has different high and low temps. Doing it and keeping track will gove u an idea of what ur normal is. My normal low is around 97.3 my highs r usually 98.5+

Go to fertilityfriend.com. They have tutorials there. It's really to involved to give a run down here easily. That's how I learned

Anyone in here who prays or will send postive vibes please do so now! After 1 m/c and 2 years of trying, we go for our first IUI this morning with one 18.4 mm follie!!!

My charts are showing inconsistancies. I have been charting for several months. Last month I started using OPKs to predict ovultion. Well, I have never before had a dip after O, and I had one at 6-7DPO this month. I tested this morning to be sure (8-9DPO), to know for sure if I can have a drink at our 4th of July BBQ. It was a BFN, I know its still early, but I figure if it doesnt show on a pregnancy test then a drink wont hurt if I am pregnant. (Im sorry if this offends anyone, that is not my intention). Anyway, the temp dip kinda worries me. Nothing was different about that day (temp in my apartment is always the same, I slept under the covers like always, and I wore the same thing I usually wearto sleep). Looking it up, it sounds like it may have been an implantation dip.

Here is my chart if you want to take a look: I temp orally, if that matters. Not sure why FF put my O the day of my OPK, Im prettysure it was the next day, which is why Im not 100% on my DPOs...
If I put in a false temp for CD 16, it changes my O to CD 17. However, my coverline this month is higher than usual. Normally it is between 96.7 and 96.8.
Did you ever have an implant dip? How soon after did you get your BFP?

No,you have to use a Basal Body Thermometer. They sell for like $10 at Walmart, Walgreens, or CVS

No, they r really cheap though! I got mine for like 6-8 bucks at target

Thank you!! It's pity (and a wonder) that they cost so much! DH did all the work lol. They actually let him administer the sample...to make it feel more like he was "getting me pregnant" as opposed to just artificial insemination. He was white as a ghost until she took the speculum out lol. Lovin my DH

That's awesome!! Loads of stick dust to you. My DH was there when they took my mirena out. He was amazed looking in there Lol.

I'm about 7dpo today....I want to test but I know it's too soon....sigh.

Yep, I will probably test on Monday morning.
I was so excited...last month I bought a pack of frers, I was bummed after I used one because it was totally BFN and then the next day AF showed. So I felt I had wasted a test...well then I was cleaning out a drawer in my bathroom and I found an unopened frer that I had forgotten all about, lol. So now I have that test back, in a sense...haha
