Does anyone charge taxes on their bows? I haven't been but my FIL is telling me that I should be charging taxes for my online sales so I don't get in trouble.

Also, a friend of mine is opening a consignment shop on the 17th & will have a rack of my hair accessories available for purchase. Should taxes be charged on these since they will be sold in a store?

I don't know anything about the taxes & how that works or even where to begin to look into it.

Yes you should charge taxes if sold in store because if you exceed 400 dollars in sales you must file taxes and pay every year on it. You can get into trouble for not paying taxes on your business. Just look up your state tax percentage and calculate it from there.

I saw that if the business has taxable transactions then you must file taxes every year on them. So your friend will charge taxes on her items so most likely yours should be marked with tax too. Because now you'll have to file every year on them.

I know FL doesn't have personal taxation so you should look into that too.
