well..i kno im going to sound like a bad mom...but 6 days after my due date i have a major test in my lpn class...so i have to go to it. and he'l be 3-6 days old then(im getting induced by saturday if he doesnt come)...and hes going to my parents house...i mean its not in public but its not my house.
I went with my mom to the mall when my daughter was a week old. I had to get out of the house. I had her in her carseat, withthe shade up and had the car seat in the stroller with that shade up and a blanket ove the 2 shades so no one could touch her and she was not that exposed to everything. I had permision from her pedi to go as well.
Quoting BensMom:“ We were out the weekend after he was born. I just didn't trust the husband to do groceries”
lol, I hear you on that one. Nathans two weeks old and we were thinking about waiting till hes atleast a month old but I just wanted to know what everyone else is gonna do.
I went out in search of a swing the day we got back from the hospital. Just keep a light blanket over the carseat to keep curious people away. If the baby is awake, just tell people to please not touch.
We were out shortly after he was born...He was born on December 6th and we went out for the first time on the 22nd and then took him to our hometown in VA for Christmas. He just went to the grocery store with me for the first time on Sunday, but we've been out and about quite a bit. Just be careful when you take your baby out, but if you're like me, God knows you can't stay shut up in the house until Spring or you'll go crazy!
Plus he came home from the hospital way smaller than we anticipated. Up until the day before he was born, they were telling me 7-8 lbs. The day before when they sent us to be induced, the us showed him at 5 1/2. He was 6 2
I'm going to wait until I recover some from the c-section. So, I'll probably wait about 2 or 3 weeks. Also, I'm not going to allow company for the first3 or 4days I'm home... Fiance might not like that, but he can see his friends somewhere else....
My doc said to keep them at home for the first 6 weeks (especially during the winter) to let their immune system build up. My daughter is 3 months and since it has been so cold since she was born she has never been out(other than relatives houses)
