re: OCTOBER MOMMIES!!! :) We've started having BABIES!!!

Has anybody been feeling dizzy or feeling like you were going to faint? I think I have read about it somewhere in one of my kazillion baby books. I just want to make sure that it is normal during end of first trimester/beginning of second trimester. I feel like the world is spinning which does absolutely nothing to help with the nausea!   I am probably just being a neurotic first time mommy to be!

Welcome Starr and Congrats.

Momma Mitchell- I've been so itchy too, everywhere. My ankles and arms and belly, it's driving my crazy. I just try to apply lotion and sometimes it helps.
Your names are both adorable! I wish I could absolutely settle on set names though.

Heather- The weather is beautiful here as well! I am absolutley loving it! Congrats on the no nausea, it makes pregnancy so much more enjoyable.

Tasha- i've been sneezing my head off like crazy. I've always had bad allergies so I fear they're going to be worse now that i'm pregnant =( Oh well, just another symptom to deal with.

Hang on Kid-I wish you all the luck I can send your way and I hope everything goes well. I'm sorry you have to sit and wait, it would drive me crazy!

Mommie Kaytee- Thanks for the graphics! They're adorable. Definitely going to be stealing some of those. I've also been having raging headaches. More so later in the evening, but I find there's absolutely nothing I can do to stop them. I've taken tylenol, laid with the lights off in silence, nothing seems to work. My whole head throbs, feels like horrible migraines.

I also see all of my Dr's at my practice, but I love all of them. I work at the hospital i'm delivering at so i'm lucky to have worked first hand with all of them and knew how they were before I was pregnant. I could not be happier with my group. It definitely is important to find either one person that you know you'll have deliver you that you like, or a whole group that you like. Otherwise you might get stuck with that one Dr you didnt like. My sister had a midwife with both of hers, the same one, and she was phenomenal. Unfortunately she moved her practice and my hospital doesn't have any midwives. Oh well, I enjoy my Dr's. TMI, My boyfriend could not be less interested in sex. I know i've heard alot about men losing interest during pregnancy, but it makes me feel horrible and he refuses to talk about it. Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry so long, Hope all you ladies feel fabulous today!

I get dizzy all the time. It's because of your increased blood flow and what not. You have more going on inside of you and your blood volume has increased. It is perfectly normal. I was actually just reading about it today or yesterday.

"But don't look now (though — considering the symptom — maybe you should), there's a new one added to the mix: dizziness. And guess who's to blame? Yup — it's your old friend progesterone again, which causes your blood vessels to relax and widen, increasing the flow of blood to your baby (again, good for baby), but slowing the return of blood to you (as always, not so good for mom). Less blood flow to you means lower blood pressure and reduced blood flow to your brain. All of these can contribute to that light-headed, dizzy feeling — especially when you get up too quickly — which is why slow and steady wins the race against dizziness. Another cause of dizziness during pregnancy is low blood-sugar levels, which can occur if you're not eating regularly (so don't try to run…or even walk…on empty). And looking ahead to later in pregnancy, dizziness in the third trimester can be caused by the pressure the growing uterus places on your major blood vessels, especially when you're lying on your back.

Here's a quick tip: If you feel dizzy or faint, lie down or sit with your head lowered between your knees, take deep breaths, and loosen any tight clothing (like that button on your jeans you struggled to close in the first place). As soon as you feel a little better, get something to eat and drink"

Amanda- my husband has shown less interest, but i think its because i have NO interest in sex at all and he is respecting that. most of the time the thought of it makes my tummy hurt! warning TMI- without going into to much detail lets just say that he is big and i am small and the difference has become more pronounced since i've become pregnant making sex very uncomfortable for me.

he probably just feels weird, its too bad that he won't talk about it, let him know that it makes you feel bad and maybe he'll open up...good luck!

Hello All, Just wanted to say hi to all new posters and old. I went on vacation all last week and promised my husband I would stay away from the internet and when we got back it took me until today to decide it was just too many pages to read to try to catch up with all that I missed. How is everyone feeling most of you should be nearing or just starting the 2nd trimester. I am so happy that my morning sickness is gone, but I find myself with a higher level of anxiousness because I am in the in between stage where you not so newly pregnant that you're miserably sick or not so ready to pop that you're miserably uncomfortable and it sometimes makes me anxious. Can't wait for my 16week appointment next week. Wish I was able to get another ultrasound, but May will be here soon enough I guess.

Thanks Sarah. I have told him how I feel. I think he is just weirded out by the whole thing. He is big as well and says he can feel something in there. I'm pretty sure he can feel my cervix since I can kinda feel him hitting it. I'm trying to not take it personally, but it's hard. Thanks again!

Lucky you Rica, I hope your vacation was great! I need one of those, somewhere relaxing by the ocean!. I'm now in my 2nd trimester. Feeling much better but still some days of ICK. My 16wk appt is April 22nd and I cannot wait for that and May.

14weeks today Momma's !!

Amanda, it was definitely what I needed and I did in fact spend it lounging by the ocean. I came back so relaxed. Congrats on 14 wks.

Heather, I feel like it's taking forever, but I guess that's because I am anxiously awaiting my next ultrasound in May that will hopefully tell me I am finally going to have me a boy.

Ok i'm gonna be a bad girl and not really address anyone. I had a tough night last night. It's rather personal but I finally am starting to deal with something that happened in 06 and it's taking a toll on me. I was scared it was taking a toll on the baby because I was crying so hard. And then the pain started. It was light enough not to be too concerned though. Anyways we found the baby's heartbeat today and once agin....she was just about an inch above my no no area!!! Why do I always find her there and is that a bad thing? I know she's moving because the heartbeat gets further away and closer and you hear thumps. I'm just concerned that the baby should move up by now since my uterus is at my belly button....

Sarah--I have the same problem with my Fiance. I have no interest, and he's trying to respect it as much as he can. And it gets to be uncomfortable too!

Do you think it could be where the pregnancy implanted? What I mean is, when I had my ultrasound the tech said the pregnancy was implanted at the top of my uterus. Maybe yours implanted lower down. ?? That would leave empty space toward the top of your uterus. The baby will eventually fill up the whole thing, but right now is so tiny. Does this make sense with what you were asking?

Rica- i feel like its going slow, i'm pretty impatient but its also because i have nothing to do all day with my son at school and me not working, i'm so bored! but then when i look back and realize i'm already 15 weeks it seems like time has passed me by. i guess its all relative.

Amanda- yay for 14 weeks!

Sandi- maybe she just likes it down there. The baby is the size of an apple and your uterus is the size of a grapefruit so she has a little space to move around.

Actually it does. I should go look at my u/s pics and see where the baby was at in them....
