Car accident on Wednesday

Hello everyone! This past Wednesday has been an emotional rollercoaster. I'm 26 weeks prego and I had my OB appointment. I was told I was already 3.4cm dialeted. That same evening at 5:30pm we were struck by a taxi van on the drivers side. I was driving. I was rushed right away to the hospital because the paramedics were getting a low heartbeat from the baby and becuase of my high risk pregnancy. Luckily I arrived and they monitored me for 2 hours without any contractions and baby Isabel's heartbeat returned to normal. Plus, she was kicking the paramedics and nurses everytime they poked at my belly with the monitors. It was quite funny to see their faces when they felt the kick or punch at the monitors.
Currently I'm at home until Monday on bedrest. Baby Isabel is still kicking up a storm and we seem to be doing fine.

Holy wow! I'm so glad to hear that you and the baby are doing well. That's a happy/good ending to a bad situation.

I hope that the taxi driver realizes what an ass he/she was/is and that they get the punishment they deserve.

That sucks, hon. At least you and baby Isabel are doing well.

I was in a mini van with my room mate. She dashed out towards the driver of the the Taxi yelling at him because it was his fault. He was yelling at us until she told him I was 6 months pregnant. He calmed down and seemed to be shocked when we called a cop friend   whom dispatched someone to us and then we called a paramedic friend that I swear was at the site in less than 10 minutes! While he checked me out he was calling the ambulance from his portable radio and they arrived in less then 10 minutes also! I think he had the idea that he wasn't to mess with us.

Its amazing how stupid some people can be. I bet he thought since you 2 were female that he could harass you and get in your face and you two would back down.  

I say good for your friend *high five* for yelling at him and telling him what was up. That's awesome.  

Thank goodness you and baby are both okay now. Sounds like that baby of yours is a tough little fighter!!

I'm very glad that baby is behaving herself! Now you just lay down and stay out of trouble until Isabel gets here! *LOL*

I'm really glad that you are fine. But you said that you are already dialated over 3cm at only 26 weeks... Are they giving you an emergency cerclage? I lost my son Deuce that way. Make sure you ask about that... Take care of yourself.

Hello ladies,
For those of you that asked about a cerclage, well I had a double cerclage done back in October when I was 12 weeks prego. According to the OBGYN the highest one in the cervix is the one currently holding. The second is a bit further down. I too lost 2 pregnancies in the past. My first DD at 26 weeks in 1994 adn DS at 21 weeks in 2000. I'm also currently on progesterone shots once a week.
Believe it or not, I'm back at work until my appointment next week. I don't think I'll be back after that I'm at the office trying to get all my paperwork ready in case I have to go on medical leave. I have a fetal echo scheduled for this Wednesday. Looking forward to hearing her heartbeat and making sure she's alright. Keep your fingers crossed everyone and thank you for your concerns.

Ok ladies,
I'm feeling a little pain in my cervix area...something like a sudden jolt. I keep wondering if it's the baby kicking. The Dr. did say she hasn't flipped (assume birth position) and that I will be feeling her kicks low. Sometimes it feels like she's shoving her foot out my...!

i'm glad that you and baby are ok. i know the feeling about the pain when she kicks there. my daughter is turned already and it feels like she she's just gonna punch rite out of my..... and it hurts.... good luck with baby..
