Weaning! - How did you start?

My baby boy is just 4 months old and im just about to start weaning him, what did you all do at the start, what did u give, when , how much etc...?

Can i ask why so soon?
I dont think ill wean Josiah till he is 1. And i plan on letting him nurse off me at night.
But give him whole milk in the day.

im formula feeding and babies are meant to have a varied diet including a bottle or two by the time their 9 months or so

I am confused. Are you trying to ween off formula?

If you r Bf. I have never supplimented. Its not good on their tummys to keep changing things.
Josiah is now 9 months old and eats 2 solids a day.

lol i duno how things go in america but over here they tell you to introduce solids between 4 and 6 months and build up gradually

Your suppossed to introduce solids but not take away their formula.

But i didnt start giving my son solids that early.
Just wasnt ready to.

Well if your ready to start giving your son solids.
I would start on just alittle rice cereal.
Thats what ive always been taught. Mom did it and so on.
I would only use a table spoon on rice cereal and use warm breast milk , and make sure its not to thick. He still needs to get use to solids. So make it kinda runny for awhile. You can use a bottle to feed him the cereal too.
Then gradually add more cereal to the milk.
If he acts ok on that. You can slowly start him on baby food. Stage 1.
Watch him close and see how his stomic acts to the foods.
My son is 9 months and he is eating 2- stage 1'sof baby food a day. And i am breastfeeding him all day and night...He eats about 10-15 mins at a time. When he sets up ..I know he is finished.
You can always ask your dr. And see what they think too. He might know more about your son. Than us.

Rice cereal... like once a day. I do it at night. Just started it. But he still gets his bottles regularly. They get all their nutrition from formula or bf.
