re: White rice and Bacon.

ahhaha okay here it is:
2 cups of rice (prepare it the way the package says, usually 2 cups rice, 4 cups water)
10 strips of cooked bacon (chopped up- I usually do a whole package cause there is never enough bacon lol)
1 small white onion (chopped)
1 green bell pepper (chopped)
½ can of tomato paste
3 cans of tomatoes
1 cup of water
Dash of salt, pepper and garlic powder for tasting
Sauté onion and green pepper in bacon grease until tender and slightly brown. In a sauce pan mix tomatoes, tomato paste, onions, green peppers, bacon and water. Simmer about 10 minutes on low. Serve over rice.


Also I put about 1/3 a cup of bacon grease into the tomato sauce because it gives it a tremendous amount of flavor. This is a cheap and easy dish. I used to eat it all the time at my boarding school. Serve with green beans and garlic toast

Hello motto. Me and my friends do this too. I have a asian friend that alsway,has rice, and being guys we needed meat to go with it. It was bomb and ever since that day we've ate bacon and rice every few weekends (that or rice and ribs,the ribs at ralies that you just heat up). So, its not wierd. it's delicious!!
