Gallblader

Hello! I'm 7 weeks pregnant and pretty sure that I have a gallbladder flare up. Has anyone ever had issues with their gallbladder during pregnancy? Thanks April

Not me personally, but a friend of mine did. She was about 4 or 5 months when her gallbladder started acting up and she had to deal with it until after the baby was born  
After she gave birth via c-section she had to go back and have surgery again to have it removed.

Oh I did, when I was about 5 or 6 months pregnant. Really the only thing that you can do to eliminate the attacks is to watch what you eat and try to keep the fat content to a minimum as that is what triggers gallbladder attacks in the first place. Sometimes they will disolve their own issues, and sometimes the blockage is just too big to be settled on it's own.

What are your symptoms?

Thank you Lacey, that makes me feel a little bit better. I have been having since November attacks in the middle of the night. It is a sharp, stabbing pain in my abdominal just under my right rib cage and they usually last for about 2 hours. Also I have been having lots of pain in my right shoulder blade, at first I thought it was from my work but one of my co-workers suggested it might be my gallbladder so I have an appt with my pcp on Wednesday.
